Position Title: SAS Data Management Expert

Location: Washington DC 20260

Duration: Long Term Contract

 

Job Description:

 

Utilizing SAS Data Management products such as Data Integration Studio and SAS Data Management 4.9, design and develop ETL jobs for large data feeds and support complex data transactions on a SAS platform;
Offer expert architecture design approaches to data management, while being able to transform and resolve disparate entities to a common entity in order to expose those entities to the connected Visual Investigator software packages;
Build and maintain SAS Data Integration Studio jobs, manage job flows within the Platform Load Sharing Facility, and troubleshoot job failures;
Integrate and manage the data mappings from the client's data sources (MS-SQL, Oracle, Teradata) to the SAS Oracle Database using SAS Data Management Services;
Perform code reviews;
Analyze execution plans; and
Improve ETL job efficiencies, correct ETL defects and respond quickly to ETL fix and enhancement requests.

Required Skills/Experience
" Expert knowledge with SAS Data Management (DM) Studio and SAS Data Integration (DI) Studio 4.9 or higher;
Ability to build and maintain SAS Data Integration Studio jobs, manage job flows within the Platform Load Sharing Facility, and troubleshoot job failures;
Knowledge of SAS architecture a plus;
SAS programming experience a plus;
Proficiency with Linux/Unix shell scripting;
Experience with server and SAS software configuration, including Metadata, on a Linux platform;
Understanding of SAS-related hardware and software interactions to optimize the system settings that will drive out the best performance of the solution and ensure proper integration of other SAS software;
High level of skill in scheduling routines, developing routines or scripting routines in SAS code in order to manage, at a minimum, daily data extraction routines from source data systems; and
Data Modeling, Data Architecting, and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) development expertise.
