Job Description



Requirements:


    • Bachelor of Science or above in Computer Science or related engineering field or equivalent education-experience
    • 7+ years in development or system admin role with proven experience in developing scalable, reliable and robust solutions
    • 4+ years in Hadoop administration
    • Extensive experience with Hadoop technologies.
    • Must be highly proficient in a majority of the following domains
    • SQL - SQL Server, Hive, Spark
    • Performance Tuning, Platform Configuration/Tuning, Load Balancing, Clustering
    • Linux, unix - command line and scripting
    • Programming experience on Hadoop platform

Preferred:

    • HDFS, Ambari, Ranger, YARN, SPARK, Hive, LLAP, Sqoop, HortonWorks preferred

Responsibilities:

    • Install and configure necessary Hadoop components, libraries, modules, etc.
    • Backup and recovery of Hive and associated data stores
    • Daily System Monitoring and support for outages, incidents, capacity utilization, etc.
    • Primary contact working with our Hadoop vendor in opening and resolving technical issues with the various clusters
    • Managing and optimizing disk space for optimal data throughput
    • Work with development teams in regards to changes to hardware, OS, network and security configurations and settings
  • Assist the various teams in data operations. Helping define and load ad hoc data as needed by Hadoop users
