Job Description

Title : Tableau Developer

Location : Washington, DC

Duration : 6 Months Contract

Job Description:

  • As a Tableau Developer, you will have extensive experience with SQL including stored procedures and develop, enhance and support complex SQL queries.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deploy and maintain analytical and reporting software solutions as directed by the client.
  • Currently deployed solutions include Pentaho and Tableau;
  • Develop specific reports, database objects, ETL scripts, and other analytical tools as directed by the client;
  • Provide direct support to facilitate both end-users and application developers' abilities to use MAX data efficiently as directed by the client;
  • Develop, enhance, and support complex SQL queries as directed by the client;
  • Translate end-user requests into technical specifications;
  • Explain intricate technical processes in non-technical terms;
  • Modernize, maintain, and streamline OMB's budget reports as directed by the client.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience
  • At least 5 years of extensive experience with SQL including stored procedures;
  • Experience with SQL optimization using indexes and query optimization;
  • Expertise utilizing report writing software or Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau and Pentaho;
  • Proficient UNIX system knowledge, including shell scripts, Telnet and X- Windows system interfaces;
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and pivot tables;

Desired Skills:

  • Hi-level knowledge of SQL including stored procedures
  • Knowledge of UI development and design principles
  • Working knowledge of Pentaho and Tableau
  • Experience in Agile SDLC process and application documentation
